I'm David Rodríguez, a Drupal developer and technical lead with more than a decade of experience building, evolving and maintaining Drupal-based platforms.

My work sits somewhere between software development, architecture and engineering leadership. I spend most of my time working with Drupal and PHP, designing custom modules and integrations, improving development workflows, and trying to make complex systems a little simpler and more maintainable.

Over the years, I've worked on projects involving Drupal architecture, SSO and authentication, third-party integrations, search, APIs, automation, CI/CD, testing and quality assurance. My usual toolbox includes Drupal, PHP, Composer, Git/GitLab, Docker and DDEV, with tools such as Drush, PHPUnit/Behat, PHPStan and PHPCS forming part of the development workflow.

I'm particularly interested in the point where architecture meets practical development: not just making something work, but understanding how it should be designed, how it will evolve, and how other developers will work with it afterwards.

I've been involved with Drupal for more than ten years and I'm also an Open Source contributor. The collaborative culture around Free and Open Source Software has strongly influenced the way I understand software development. I'm a long-time Linux user — mostly Debian and Ubuntu — and I still feel much more at home in a terminal than I probably should.

This Medium profile is my off-Broadway channel: a place for notes, experiments, technical articles and occasional digressions about Drupal, Open Source, web development and technology in general.

I usually write in Spanish here. You can find my main website at therussianlullaby.dev, where I keep my projects, technical work and other things I've been building over the years.
